Episode 22 – Jason’s Adventures in Story Gaming

Welcome to Episode 22 – Jason’s Adventures in Story Gaming. In this episode Jason talks about his triumphs and misfortunes in story gaming. There isn’t much structure to this episode since it consists of whatever runs out of Jason’s mouth from one moment to another. This is another short podcast, since Jason later realized he forgot to talk about a few things and is kicking himself.  Some of the things we did talk about are: A super cool shirt about fighting; Blazing Rose, Jason’s first true story game; his cameo on The Walking Eye podcast; the new Harry Potter movie neither of us have seen; and G.I.Joe the Rise of Cobra.

Episode 21 – The Psion

Welcome to Episode 21 – The Psion. We start off with a little discussion about Transformers 2, then roll right into our main topic, the recently debuted Psion class. We go over the basic mechanics, a few sample powers, and we give our impressions of the class so far.  We also discuss the release method being implemented for debut PHB3 content, going straight to the Compendium and the Character Builder and not a full article with the content.  We are divided a bit on if this is a good thing or not, but we are in agreement that this method of distribution for non-debut content is not a good idea.

A Short Break

Hello listeners, just a quick announcement.  We have decided that we will be taking a short break from the podcast.  There are a few reasons for this break.

First off, we mentioned on the last podcast that our normal recording spot, my basement, is currently under construction and I will be spending much of my free time working to get it finished.

Second, we have been working on updating our site.  In addition to a new look, we are changing a few things on the back-end.  I am hoping for a smooth transition with these updates, but if I think these changes will effect how you receive the podcast, I will post on the site with details.

Right now, it looks like sometime in July for the construction in my basement to be done, or at least to the point we can start recording again.

In the mean time, you can still follow us on Twitter (Matt or Jason), or email the show with suggestions for anything you would like to hear us talk about on the show.

Episode 20 – The Monk

In episode 20 we talk about the Monk Playtest and the recent announcement about DDI subscription changes. All in all we like the new Monk as a Psionic character.  At the end of the episode we talk about Star Trek and what we thought about it, so if you haven’t seen it you can stop there. But if you haven’t seen it, what’s wrong with you? Get out and see it.

Welcome to episode 18. We have Tim as a guest host in this episode, and rightfully so.

In this episode we talk about what it means to be a munchkin versus min/maxing, how they are different and how they are the same. We also discuss how they have changed over the years, if they are necessary, and the morality of both.

This episode is done in reverse format by accident, blame Jason, so if you were wanting to listen to our ramblings first, then you should skip towards the end. We apologize if this throws anyone off, but once again, blame Jason.
