Bonus Episode 2 – Quick Update/Alert

Hey everyone!

I’m releasing a quick “bonus” episode today for a few reasons. One being that it is my friend’s birthday and the other being that there are a few changes happening that you all need to know about.

I know what you’re asking, didn’t we just do some changes? Well these aren’t show style changes, Matt is going to do some changes to our feed and how we release the podcast, so things might get a bit bumpy for a day or two coming up here. I also clear up some things that we didn’t know about iplay4E last show.

In regards to the changes to our feed, if you’re reading this, make sure to check back here before the next show goes out and we’ll have any info you will need in regards to if anything dramatic changed or not… basically if we’ll have a new feed you’ll need to use.

In general, if you read the site, then you really don’t need to listen to this “bonus” episode due to the fact it is just me wishing a happy birthday, the iplay4E information will also be in the next official podcast, and you’re already doing exactly what you need to do to get any information/warnings on our feed changes.

Have fun kids!

whoops

It seems during the editing of our last podcast I left some space highlighted at the end of the tracks and we have about 12 minutes of absolute silence at the end of the podcast. I will get around to fixing this tonight.

edit: Actually, I just fixed it now, bit of a rush fix but it is good to go now. Will be cutting it close getting to work though.

Episode 29 – Martial Power 2

Welcome to Episode 29 – Martial Power 2. In this episode we talk about a little tool, or site really, called iplay4E. Matt has used and digs this tool, highly suggested if you have a DDI account and often have or use a computer for your D&D sessions and have an internet connection at the same time. After that we break down the new book, Martial Power 2, specifically the new build options for the classes. We have decided to skip discussing powers, paragon paths, epic destinies, feats, and so on for things that are common in most books. Especially due to the fact that the things we skip are new things made specifically for the new builds.

In this episode, we announce that we have basically decided on a format and theme for the show, once again, but are willing to take requests on if you want us to talk about a specific book or thing. Chances are, if we can’t or rather wouldn’t talk about something on the show, we’ll more than likely reply with whatever we can. Whether it be our opinion, suggestions, etc. Even though we have an aim now, or again rather, we’re still here to please.

Questions? Comments? You can e-mail the show here. If you want to speak to one of us directly both myself (Jason) and Matt have e-mails as well, how handy. We are both also on twitter: Matt & Jason.

Episode incoming

Hello Everyone! … Good god that was creepy, I’ll try to not do that again. Alright, onto business.

Matt and myself recorded here last Tuesday but guess what, I forgot the recording at his place! I was able to snag it during D&D Saturday but more family news has come in this Sunday and while I am going to promise to have the episode out by next Monday, the 8th, I will still try to have it out sooner than that for all of you. I can’t say when, because the latest family news could be very small, or very large.  I’m guessing it’ll be a middle ground sort of thing, sooooo I’m wild guessing on a Thursday release for this podcast. I know, we need a schedule right? Well buck up kid, we probably won’t have a truly solid one anytime soon.

I have gone back into WoW though, I know I know, it’s a sad thing really. If anyone has a character on Cenarion Circle feel free to look up Garik or Sarantis, those are the names I run under.

Have fun kids!

Recording soon

Well all, time has been found for me and Matt to sit around and be nerdy, hooray! We won’t be doing the Player’s Handbook 3 classes either, since that drops so soon (Matt pointed that out). Instead, we’ll be going over the Martial Power 2 book. I plan on getting that edited and out in a timely manner even, cause I know you’re all looking at it sitting on the shelf in your local gaming store.

And maybe, juuuuust maybe we’ll start doing a new segment with this next one. Who’s to know, who’s to know.

Have fun kids!

We’re still trying…

To make a podcast that is. Rather I’m trying to find a day I know I’ll be free to do such activities with Matt, I like them to be specialafter all. I still have to check my schedule, but I believe I might actually be free for Matt’s wild desires this Tuesday, but that is only if he is free as well. If you haven’t heard, his wife is terribly pregnant, so who knows what’ll happen. For all I know, the child might come several months early, in the recording room, and you’ll hear it all, because I don’t like to edit things out. Either way, if things work out, we might be able to record this coming Tuesday and if I’m on my game have it out for you by the following Monday. That is, if the stars themselves align.

Things with my family are progressing as expected, I on the other hand have hit another hurdle in life, and am trying to scramble over it. Thankfully my skills let me scramble over such things within a day or two at tops. My family is another matter, it’s a long process, like teaching algebra to a horse. Sure, it’s cool if  horse can tap out the number three, but it’s even more wild if the horse can figure out why X is greater than Q.

Also, I’m looking for a few things right now. The utmost are boks that are good for those who are just learning PHP, cause I don’t know any PHP and I wish I did. The other things are a really good whiskey and tequila, because well… I want to round out my liquor cabinet.

Also, I’ve decided the next thing you’ll hear about won’t be the primal handbook. Screw the primal handbook. You’ll hear something from DDI, whether it be about some cool articles or some PHB3 classes and content, and I’d expect the later of them.

Have fun kids!

Episode 28 – Adventurer’s Vault 2

Welcome to episode 28 – Adventurer’s Vault 2. In this episode we break down the obvious book, talk about some of what is in it, but most importantly, is it worth your money. Now, I could tell you whether to buy it or not, but that would defeat the purpose of forcing you to listen. You will also notice something new we are going to try out, transition music! That way you’ll know when we go from nonsense chit chat to a topic of real importance.

Once again it had been awhile since we recorded so we had a lot of chit chat to begin with, the topics bounced back and forth but included things like Scribblenauts for the DS and a little site called Geeky Clean.

Questions? Comments? You can e-mail the show here. If you want to speak to one of us directly both myself (Jason) and Matt have e-mails as well, how handy. We are both also on twitter: Matt & Jason.

Update

Hello all!

I know awhile back I said we’d be fully on schedule again but well, I didn’t intend to decieve anyone, I fully expected us to be on schedule podcasting in full earnest again, but sadly, we are not. Due to some personal issues within my life, I have been unable to podcast, edit, and so forth at all. I do have a podcast sitting on the back burner that I will, i repeat, I will release either Monday or very early next week, but I cannot say when the next one will go up. Mayhaps I can convince Matt to bring in some of the guest hosts and continue on while I am dealing with life.

I won’t fully explain what is going on in my life, but I will say that times are hard and my family needs me now more than ever. I am currently doing everything I can do support them mentally and physically. Unfortunately they seem to add to what they need from me faster than I can dole out any help, and it’s been stressful. This is not to say things haven’t been hard on me as well, so with the free day a week or every two weeks I get I have been trying to get out and have fun, rather than grunt away at yet another draining task for my family.

I expect things to get back on track …. well…. I hope things to be back on track within a month for me, but I can’t guarantee anything. Also, please accept my sincere apologies for not putting this up sooner, it actually took someone leaving a comment for me to realize I’ve waited far far too long for this.

Have fun kids! (twice as much please, gotta make up for my slack)

P.S. The next episode will be an overview of the Adventurer’s Vault 2, where we go back to our original book overview style. If you want us to look over a specific book before others, please, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. Otherwise well… you’ll probably get the Primal Handbook after the AV2.

Soon, soon…

It’s been awhile since we released a podcast, and I said you’d get one shortly after the new year came around, and it’s true! We’re just waiting on Matt to get done being sick, which isn’t an uncommon thing around these parts lately, and we’ll be able to record again soon. If he was just a cough and wheeze sick, I’d just set the microphones on opposite ends of the room, but since it revolves around his voice, it is a different story.

As of right now, we are looking at going through the Adventurers Vault 2 for you and maybe picking out a few DDI things to tell you about. If there are any other books you’d rather know about sooner, let us know and we’ll see if we can swing that.

C-c-changes!

Bah humbug! Wait… the holidays are over, now it is the seasn of returning items. Good luck to everyone who has to do that.

With the new year will come old things, specifically Matt and myself talking about going back more to our roots of the show,  which is 4E D&D book and DDI information. We still plan on trying to sneak in a real topic once in awhile, but based on what all of you have said, you liked the DDI and book information the most, and wer’re happy to oblige!

Besides that, you’ll notice that we are more organized and will have obvious and clean transitions from one topic to another. We plan to clean up the show a lot, now don’t go thinking we are going to stop our initial idle chit chat or side commentary on things, far from it. Removing that would make us plain boring, rather than mildly entertaining.

Are there other things we plan on changing? Yes! But I just don’t feel like sharing them, mwa ha ha. Are we still wanting you to e-mail us? Yes! We are always open to listening to what you like or don’t like or trying to answer your questions, regardless of if you want a quick e-mail or an in depth discussion on the show, we’ll do our best. Heck, you want to hear a shout out from us? Go for it, we just like your e-mails.

Have fun kids.
