Podcast incoming in the year 2099

Alright kids, remember how I said we got new equipment and how awesome it would be? Yeah, apparently it will be awesome for everyone but me. With the 2 podcasts we have in the can for all of you, the amount of time it’ll take me to edit will easily be about 4 times what it normally is. Once we get use to things and are able to tweak it a bit more, it’ll remain a huge pain, hooray! Which means I am going to have to learn how to tweak a few things, and fast.

While there is no podcast for you today, there should be one by the end of the week. I spent the last 2 dedicated editing nights to trying to find a technique to make it so I could edit like normal, failing both times. I thought I was close, but then 5 minutes in Matt started sounding like a robot, which I was honestly tempted to keep.

Okay, last time I delayed i mentioned the equipment which would make us sound awesome, so what are you getting THIS time? Well, how about the cleanest, best sounding podcast, DTW has ever put out. With how I am going to have to edit these 2 podcasts, there should be almost no dual talk by Matt and myself, unless we are trying to argue with one another. The stuff you use to hear where one of us goes to talk and the other just continues talking will be gone.
Normally I’d let Matt handle this certain update, but he might be a bit preoccupied. You see, his wife just removed a parasite from her body, with the help of a team of doctors and people fully trained in parasite removal. Word on the street is they found the parasite adorable and plan to keep it, weird right? I guess the parasite is pinkish in color and looks much like a tiny human. Who knew!?
Have fun kids!

Heh, yes, this year we also switched to two-channel recording. It’s great being able to seperate things out when we’re talking all over each other – and to mute coughs and false-starts that we couldn’t've got rid of with a single channel. We found that Audacity is best for this. The extra control does mean that it takes four times as long to edit the podcasts though! I’m looking forwards to your next episode. Congratulations to Matt! When the parasite was first extracted, was it purple in colour and look strangely like an animatronic?

Actually, our little issue was us going “meh, levelator will take that out”, when we noticed that our voices were causing the most minor of bumps in the other microphones levels. We didn’t see them as anything more than what a fan or pencil tap would be like, which levelator has always been generous enough to remove.

We were ever so horrifyingly wrong. I sound fine when we combine the streams Matt… yeah. which means that as I edit, I’ll have to cancel out the voice carry over from the 2nd microphone. Yay… someone set me on fire.

Ah well, it’ll sound beautiful. I will ask Matt what the creature looked like upon its extraction.
