Explosive soup

By now many of you have seen District 9, and while I’m sure you have your very own opinion on the movie, I can assure you that unless you thought it was a killer flick you are wrong. You can talk about the “meaning” behind the film and whether or not it got the point across well or not, or you could take it as an entertaining film. I do know that this film is based on a short film that has a “meaning”, thus making District 9 have a “meaning”, but in general films are cut up and analyzed too much on the whole. Until a creator says so straight out that something is meant to be interpreted, has a meaning, or says what the “moral of the story” is, then said item is meant to be taken as entertainment. Here is another example, unless C.S.Lewis says so Aslan is not Jesus Christ or God. If you wish to continue this topic and argue with me, then I will cause your brain to shutter and bleed too by stating this: The song “The Animal I Have Become” is about lycantrhopes and shit, or “Dragonborn are highly influenced by Predator due to their unhuman skin and long skin dreadlocks” or “beef stew is an artistic interpretation of an omnivores stomach contents”.

See what overthinking something does? Stop it!

I have been playing some Fable 2 lately and I finally got around to beating it. Hooray! I am now buying my very first download content, which is the Knothole Island add-on. I feel accomplished in doing so, since I have never done said buying before. I also ended the game with my buy being hugely obese since it seems the only way to lose weight is to eat celery. I guess running all over the contenent and swinging a sword like a crazy person just doesn’t do as muc as a good vegetable. Which is what I’m off to do right now, go run around and eat celery till my guy isn’t a tub of lard anymore. ugh.

Have fun kids!

Are people disliking it because it lacked or had the wrong meaning? I was unimpressed because its storytelling was such a mess. Couldn’t keep up my suspension of disbelief.

I guess what I was trying to say was that this is a movie where the meaning behind it is 100% declared by the creator and that people often try to find something deeper or different than what a creator is aiming for. Maybe not with this movie specifically but in general I see people digging far too deep into movies to find a meaning behind them, or a “reason” for why the movie went the way it did.

It was nothing more than a grumble.

I will admit I liked the way the movie was presented, but then again I was one of those crazy ADHD movie goers that could follow the fight scenes in Transformers 2 in my first viewing.
